- Question: I keep seeing Green Visor, Inc. on your site and I thought I was visiting the PointHere site. Who is Green Visor?
Answer: Green Visor, Inc. is the name of our company that markets all its services under the protection of such things as the Federally Registered Trademarks you are used to seeing (like ProFax, PointHere and others).
- Question: Green Visor sounds like a superhero’s name. Does your owner have super powers?
Answer: Not as far as you know. Seriously, yes it is a rather odd name to some, but those who find their roots in accounting probably understand it best. We get our name from the green eye shades that accountants and book keepers of yesteryear used to wear. The eyeshades were generally made from a celluloid which was the precursor of plastic. That gave it the translucent look. The shades were often short enough to shade the bookkeeper’s eyes from the lamps they had close to their work without getting in the way of viewing other things. Some shades were leather or cloth covered, but colored green for that proper look. The name Green Visor came from our commitment to accurate business methodologies and a tip of the hat to the bean counters that made sure the business ran profitably.
- Question: Why does PointHere seem to want to do some work for me and then just give me the ability to do it myself? Isn’t that bad business?
Answer: Well, we think a little differently than most. Many places will charge you to write software they run and then if you want the software, they will not give it to you. We think that is just plain wrong. While we believe that we can often manage your processing better than you can and for less money, we also understand having your destiny in your own hands is important too. Besides, if you like what we did for you on one project, you will come back to us again and again for other projects and since business is dynamic, you will come back for program changes as long as you liked the way you were treated in the first place!
- Question: How will I be billed?
Answer: Your invoices will come from Green Visor within 30 days of completion and any merchant clearing house transactions (VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) will say Green Visor on them. - Question: Do you do everything in house?
Answer: No. Some services like the United States Postal Service NCOA (National Change of Address) must be performed by one of the few licensed shops and we are not one of them. If your project requires a list rental, we have suppliers that we use for that as well. Some challenges we meet with “hired guns” or cooperative business agreements to make sure that the best resources are put to your problem. We think that the practice of using in-house resources simply because they are in-house leads to a potential problem of reduced quality that we avoid by checking our ego’s at the door.
